Grants & Public Funding Lead
Not hiring yet — we will announce it. This is one of the four leads the Head of Program hires first, once they are in the seat. Full time · remote-friendly. Pay: Base plus a percentage of funds landed. You can read the full listing now and leave a résumé so you are on the list when it opens.
The one-paragraph version
You find the money and go and get it: city and county discretionary funds, state and federal programs, and the animal-welfare grant makers.
What you will actually do
- Map the funders: city and county discretionary funds, state and federal programs (workforce, public health, USDA), and the animal-welfare grant makers (Best Friends, Maddie's Fund, ASPCA, PetSmart Charities, BISSELL Pet Foundation).
- Write the applications with the partner 501(c)(3) or fiscal sponsor; you own the calendar of deadlines and reports.
- Run petitions and public-comment campaigns when a council needs a push.
- Track every dollar landed and every report due; nothing lapses.
Who fits
- Writes clearly and fast; has read a funder's guidelines and built the application to match.
- Organized to a fault; a deadline missed is a program lost.
- Comfortable working with a nonprofit partner's finance person.
Requirements
- No degree required. Has written or managed at least one grant that was funded, or an equivalent record of public funding work.
- Remote-friendly; some travel to pilot cities.
