Collar & Station Builder
Not hiring yet — we will announce it. This role opens city by city once a program is signed, and it is full days · hub — a real job, not a couple of hours. Pay ~$25 / hr (est.). Placed through Autism / neurodivergent employment programs, vocational programs. You can read the full listing now and leave a résumé so you are on the list when it opens.
The one-paragraph version
You build the hardware. Collars, gateways, feed and litter stations come out of the regional hub tested, logged and ready to ship.
What you will actually do
- Assemble collar nodes: radio, battery, sensor, breakaway clasp, 3D-printed shell. Flash the firmware, run the bench test, log the serial.
- Build and test gateways (the chimney receivers) and the feed and litter stations: solar, dispenser, latch, the recall buzzer.
- Run the print farm: queue shells and station parts, change filament, clean supports, reject bad prints.
- Repairs: a collar comes back with a cracked shell or a dead cell — diagnose, fix or scrap, log it.
- Keep the parts log honest: what came in, what went out, what's low. Order lists go to the city lead.
Who fits
- Precise and steady. You like doing the same thing right fifty times.
- Hands-on: small screws, solder, a multimeter, a 3D printer — we teach all of it.
- Prefers a quiet bench and a clear checklist to meetings and phones. That is the job.
- Notices when something is off — a reading that's wrong, a part that doesn't seat.
Requirements
- No degree required. Vocational or maker experience is a plus, not a requirement.
- Placed through autism / neurodivergent employment programs and vocational programs; we set the bench up with the program's job coach.
- Full days at the regional hub (a warehouse the city already owns).
