A FEW FENCES AWAY. STILL A CONNECTION HOME.

Their little adventure.
Your window into it.

The collar sends a location by radio.
Your home connection brings it to your phone.

Their little adventure. A cat sends its location over Meshtastic LoRa to a house receiver, then home internet brings it to an owner phone.
Illustrated signal path. The current home receiver connects through an awake computer; reception and update times depend on the surroundings.
01 / ON THE COLLAR

GPS finds the position.

The collar’s GPS gets a satellite fix. Meshtastic firmware sends a short location packet over the LoRa radio. No SIM card in the collar.

02 / AT YOUR HOUSE

Your receiver listens.

Your matching home receiver picks up the packet. In our current prototype, it connects by USB to an always-on computer with internet.

03 / ON YOUR PHONE

Open your private map.

Petfinder shows the latest received fix and its age. The dashboard checks every 30 seconds; the collar sends updates at its configured interval.

A CONNECTION HOME.

GPS knows the spot.
Radio brings it to you.

Petfinder uses Meshtastic and long-range LoRa radio to connect the collar to your home receiver. Open your private map to see the latest received location, explore past adventures and keep an eye on the places that matter.

A little home
for the technology.

A familiar paw. A comfortable fit in mind.
Designed around little adventures.

Forest green Petfindr collar device concept with paw-circle branding, a removable camera-style battery, spare pack and external charger.
Device appearance concept. Fit, comfort, battery life and reception are still being tested before orders open.

Looking ahead: Meet the V2 sound + optional vibration concept ↗. The original tracker design stays here.

FROM THE BOX TO YOUR FIRST LOCATION.

A little setup.
A much clearer picture.

Simple setup, from home.
Instructions planned with every kit.

  1. Charge the collar.

Get your explorer’s tracker ready for the day.

  2. Connect your home receiver.

Give the collar a connection back to your private map.

  3. Make the map yours.

Set home, choose a distance alert and outline areas you want to keep an eye on.

  4. Check in on their adventures.

See received locations, revisit trails and look back at their little journeys.

If updates stop: check the collar charge, receiver USB connection, computer sleep setting and home internet. “Last received” is the last known position, not proof your cat is still there.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things
before the adventure.

An honest look at what we’re building.

Is this ready to put on my cat?

Not yet. This is a working website and a hardware concept. Comfort, battery life and range still need real-world testing before collar use.

Will it work anywhere?

The tracker must be within reach of a compatible receiver. Buildings, terrain, antenna placement, and the cat’s position affect reception. GPS may struggle indoors. The dashboard shows the last received position, which may be old.

Are there monthly payments?

No. Our planned $250 kit includes tracking with no monthly Petfinder payment. You provide internet for the home bridge and your phone. The kit is coming soon; orders are not open yet.

Does one charge last for years?

No. The collar is rechargeable and will need charging. We are designing for years of device use, but have not verified battery runtime or long-term durability yet.

Does the tracker need a SIM card?

The planned LoRa link does not need a SIM in the collar. The home receiver or its bridge needs an internet connection to update this website.

How will the collar be designed?

The enclosure is still a concept. The final assembly needs a suitable breakaway collar, smooth edges, protected battery, and a measured fit and weight check for your cat. Charging should happen off the collar.
